Health Care

  • Gundersen Health System is a comprehensive non-profit health system based in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The system includes multi-specialty group medical practices, a teaching hospital, regional community clinics, affiliate hospitals and clinics, behavioral health services, vision centers, pharmacies, and air and ground ambulances.
  • Mayo Clinic is based out of Rochester, Minnesota with its Flagship hospital. William Worral Mayo founded the Mayo clinic in 1864. The clinic ranked number one in the United States for 2019-20 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals Honor Roll, maintaining a position at or near the top for more than 27 years.

Education

  • The University of Wisconsin Platteville is a public university in Platteville, Wisconsin. Part of the University of Wisconsin System, it offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The university has three colleges that serve over 8,000 students on-campus and an additional 3,000 students through its five distance education programs.
  • University of Wisconsin La Crosse is a public university in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Founded in 1909, it is a leading comprehensive university as part of the University of Wisconsin System offering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. With 9,600 undergraduate and 1,000 graduate students, UW-La Crosse is composed of four schools and colleges offering 102 undergraduate programs, 31 graduate programs, and 2 doctoral programs. UW-La Crosse has nearly 85,000 alumni across all 50 U.S. states and 57 countries.
  • The University of Dubuque is a private Presbyterian university in Dubuque, Iowa. About 2,200 students attend the university. The University of Dubuque consists of a Theological Seminary and three schools:
  • School of Business
  • School of Liberal Arts
  • School of Professional Programs

    The university is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, the Council on Aviation Accreditation, and the Association of Theological Schools in North America. It is also approved by the State of Iowa Department of Education.
  • Viterbo University is a private liberal arts college in La Crosse, Wisconsin, United States. Founded in 1890 by Roman Catholic Franciscans, Viterbo is home to three colleges with nine schools offering 48 academic programs at the associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. Viterbo is one of 23 Franciscan universities in the United States, with 2,521 undergraduate and graduate students and over 23,000 alumni. As of 2020, Viterbo’s endowment was a record $55.7 million. Viterbo is a member of the NAIA and the North Star Athletic Association; its athletic teams are known as the V-Hawks.
  • Southwest Tech is a technical college in Fennimore, Wisconsin. The college’s district includes the area covered by 30 school districts, including all of Crawford, Grant, Iowa, Lafayette, and Richland counties; and parts of Dane, Green, Sauk and Vernon counties. It is a member of the Wisconsin Technical College System. The campus is on U.S. Highway 18.

Innovation

  • Trane Technologies Inc. is a manufacturer of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and building management systems and controls. The company was a subsidiary of Ingersoll Rand Inc. which was the successor company to the American Standard Companies. Trane Technologies is now an independent company listed on NASDAQ (TT). It makes products under the Trane Brand name.

A global company, Trane’s international headquarters are in Swords, Ireland. Trane employs more than 29,000 people at 104 manufacturing locations in 28 countries and has annual sales of more than $8 billion. In addition to its activity in HVAC systems, Trane is involved in energy conservation and renewable energy projects.

  • Mayo ClinicKwik Trip is a chain of convenience stores founded in 1965 with locations throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota under the name Kwik Trip, and in Iowa and Illinois under the name Kwik Star (to avoid confusion with QuikTrip). The company also operates stores under the name Tobacco Outlet Plus, Tobacco Outlet Plus Grocery, Hearty Platter, and Stop-N-Go. Kwik Trip, Inc. is a privately held company headquartered in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
  • Unison Solutions, Inc. is an industry leader in biogas conditioning, biogas upgrading, and BioCNG vehicle fuel systems. Their systems have been installed around the world at landfills, wastewater treatment facilities, dairies, and food processing digester plants. Their expertise in purifying biogas includes hydrogen sulfide removal, moisture removal, VOC/siloxane removal, CO2 removal, compression, and gas quality monitoring.
  • Hirschbach is a privately owned carrier that has delivered state-of-the-art transportation solutions for over 80 years. Their fleet is among the newest, most environmentally friendly, and fuel-efficient in the trucking industry. They offer various types of transportation services including refrigerated, dedicated, and specialized. Their primary markets extend from the midwest to and from the south, southeast, and northeast. Hirschbach is a company built on strong relationships with its family of customers, drivers, employees, vendors, and partner carriers.
  • SCOT Industries Since 1949, Scot Industries has been the premier supplier of specialty tubing and bar products. Scot is the technological leader in the industry and is dedicated to meeting its customers’ most exacting demands, both in terms of product specification and JIT delivery.
